Privacy Policy
This policy describes what data Vivum collects, why, and how it is handled. Last updated: May 2026.
What we collect
Account information. When you register, we collect your email address and a display name. Authentication is handled by Supabase; passwords are never stored in plain text.
Content you submit. Article submissions (URL, title, abstract, field, author name), comments, votes, and review nominations are stored in our database and associated with your account.
Usage data. We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated page-view statistics. No personally identifiable information is linked to these analytics. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and is compliant with GDPR.
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to operate the platform: authenticating your account, displaying your submissions and contributions, and enabling community features (voting, commenting, nominations). We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your display name and submitted content are publicly visible on the platform. Your email address is never made public.
Data processors
Vivum relies on the following sub-processors to operate:
Supabase — database and authentication. Data is stored in EU-region Supabase infrastructure. Supabase is GDPR-compliant.
Vercel — hosting and analytics. Vercel hosts the application and provides privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. Account deletion removes your profile and authentication record. Publicly submitted content (comments, article submissions) may be retained in anonymised form to preserve the integrity of community discussions.
Cookies
Vivum uses a single session cookie set by Supabase to keep you logged in. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
